We are excited to be hosted by two spectacular venues!  The addresses for both the Grand Hyatt Buckhead and Peachtree Road UMC are below.  The church is two city blocks from the hotel, and you may need a jacket if the weather is cold.
Hotel Address – Grand Hyatt Buckhead: 3300 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305
Church Address – Peachtree Road UMC, 3180 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305

Transportation/MARTA Click here to see transportation options recommended by the hotel. MARTA Directions: From the airport, Grand Hyatt Atlanta guests should board the Northbound train (Red Line to North Springs). Exit at the Buckhead Station N7 onto Peachtree Road S. The hotel is two blocks away. Guests also may call the hotel at 404-237-1234 to request pick up from the courtesy car.

Parking – Free Parking for the Festival is available at the Peachtree Road UMC in Red Lot 2.  A parking pass is required and can be obtained from the registration desk. *The church is not responsible for any cars parked in their parking lot and recommends no valuables be left in your vehicle.  Parking is also available at the hotel for a discounted rate of $28 for 24 hours, or $8 for day parking. Tickets for the discounted rate must be picked up at the registration desk.

Meals – Dinner is provided on Wednesday. Lunch and Dinner are provided on Thursday and Friday. Breakfast is provided on Saturday.  All other meals, include breakfast on Thursday and Friday as well as meals in transit to and from, are on your own.  Several food options are available within a short walk from the hotel.

Preaching – You are assigned 15 minutes for your presentation. Please be aware that reading scripture and/or praying is included in your 15 minutes, unless done during your mentor’s introduction. Please prepare to stay within the 15-minute limit to avoid the time keeper from needing to end your sermon for you. You are welcome to preach for less than 15 minutes. See the Preaching Guide for a list of recommended (but not mandatory) scriptures for preparing your sermon.

Dress Code – You are free to dress however you deem appropriate; your clothing may reflect the ministry situation in which you are most likely to preach, whether liturgical robes or shorts and sandals. We simply ask that you dress modestly and don’t wear clothing with provocative or political text. Formal attire is normally worn at the Preachapalooza, and all other events are casual.

Mentor Introduction – Normally your mentor will give a short introduction before your sermon. However, if your mentor is not attending the Festival, you may prepare a short introduction on a notecard and have either the room convener or another person of your choice (preaching circle leader, peer, etc.) give your introduction. If you know that someone other than your mentor will give your introduction, please notify us before the festival by emailing debbie@academyofpreachers.net
