Chalice Press of St. Lewis has become a Founding Partner with the Academy of Preachers. This is good news, not simply because it helps us toward our first year goal of 50 Partners–we now have 24–but because it connects us with a ministry that will help us take our young preachers to places they have never been. We are very glad for this relationship.
“I am delighted to write this letter confirming the commitment of Chalice Press to become a Founding Partner with the Academy of Preachers.” So wrote president and publisher Cyrus N. White. “We have particular interest in the Festival of Young Preachers. Inviting young people to discern the gifts and call to preach, helping to equip them for this important endeavor, and encouraging them as they go forth in their ministries are central to the mission of Chalice Press. We welcome the opportunity to apply our resources and experience with those of the Academy of Preachers in useful partnership.”
Among the first acts of their new relationship with us is a commitment to provide each one of the young preachers at the Festival a free book. We hope this is the first of many such offers from a wide variety of publishers and authors. We plan to give to all 100 young preachers a gift bag full of books, materials, invitation, opportunities and such, and we invite other organizations, institutions, and businesses to help us lavish upon these young people signs of our support for their gospel vocation.
In addition, we are exploring with Chalice Press ways to publish the sermons preached at the Festival, including both e-publishing and print publishing. One of our goals is to showcase these outstanding young preachers. We hope to encourage them and inspire others to consider gospel preaching as a vocation.
Welcome Chalice Press. We look forward to doing good things together
