This past week we reached the first threshold of registration: 20 young preachers have now submitted all their paperwork and fees for the Festival of Young Preachers in January of 2010. A total of 100 spaces are available and the registration deadline is October 1, 2009.
David Depoister is a student at Oakland City University and a member of Enon General Baptist Church. His mentor is Tammy Scheller. David becomes the second Oakland City student to register. Other schools that have two registrants include Asbury Seminary, Fisk University, and Trevecca Nazarene University.
Ryan Gilbert is our first young preacher from Transylvania University and the University of Chicago Divinity School. He is associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. His mentor is David Carr, Campus Minister at Transylvania.
Adam Kilchenman is our first registered young preacher from Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. He is ministry intern at Middletown Christian Church, near Louisville. His mentor is David Emery, who also serves on the Board of Advisors for the Academy of Preachers. Adam (and David) will also be attending the Preaching Camp, May 31-June 5.
A list of all twenty young preachers is maintained elsewhere on this web site; consult it regularly to keep up with registrations.
