In the past week, two more seminaries sent letters of endorsement and partnership and the differences between the schools demonstrates the wide appeal of the Academy of Preachers.

Beeson Divinity School is the rather new evangelical graduate school associated with Samford University. It is located in Birmingham, Alabama. Dean Timothy George is a long-time friend of Academy Executive Director Dwight A. Moody. Moody spent two hours last week discussing the work of the Academy with Beeson’s new preaching professor, Doug Webster, pastor most recently of First Presbyterian Church of San Diego.

On Monday of this week, the Academy received this word: “Lexington Theological Seminary is pleased to become a partner to the Academy of Preachers.” It was signed by James P. Johnson, president of Lexington Theological Seminary. The Lexington seminary is one of the oldest west of the Allegheny Mountains and is affiliated with the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.

This brings to eleven the number of Partners who have written formal letters of endorsement. This network of Partners is important for it enhances the credibility of the Academy of Preachers and opens up avenues of communication with young preachers in a particular network. The goal is to secure 50 Partners by the end of this year.

A list of these Partners is available elsewhere on this web site.
